A child-sized android with flexible joints and soft skin developed by the Japan Science and Technology Agency was unveiled Friday at Osaka University, where the agency’s research and development team is based.
The 1.3-meter-tall, 33 kilogram humanoid robot has optical, auditory and tactile sensors. Fifty-one actuators inside its body run on compressed air and enable the robot to make complex movements smoothly.
About 200 tactile sensors are embedded in the robot’s gray skin, which is made of silicon and other materials. The robot can react to its surroundings by blinking and altering its facial expressions.

StarCraft II is a sequel to the real-time strategy game StarCraft, announced on May 19, 2007, at the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational in Seoul, South Korea. StarCraft II is being developed for concurrent release on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Mac OS X. Though currently no release date has been given, it has been stated that development on the game began shortly after Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne back in 2003 and that the game development is "very far along and already playable in multiplayer with all three races". The game will feature the Havok physics engine, allowing "debris [to] roll down a ramp", as well as improved 3D graphics. Its lead designer is Dustin Browder.

Self-made entrepreneur Chris Gardner reads an excerpt from his book, "The Pursuit of Happyness," recounting his experience at an "est" group therapy seminar in 1970s San Francisco. This video was taped at the Museum of the African Diaspora (MoAD) in San Francisco.
Chris Gardner in conversation with 20/20 producer Lynn Redmond about his newly-published autobiography, "The Pursuit of Happyness." Gardner's fascinating story is also the subject of a movie of the same name starring Will Smith as Gardner and Smith's son Jaden as Gardner's son, Chris Jr. The film was shot in the Bay Area and is scheduled to be released in December 2006 by Columbia Pictures.
Gardner is President and CEO of Rich LLC. He is also an avid philanthropist committed to assisting organizations involved in education and economic development.
